“No one ever complained about a fat brain. No one ever accused their brain of being too short or too tall, too wide or too narrow. Or ugly. It either worked or it didn't, and mine worked just fine.”

I actually really enjoyed this book. It was fun, had original ideas for its storyline and didn't "plot-hop" off of other popular books in the genre, and it was well paced. The writing was fair, but not spectacular, and just not very memorable within itself, but the story held well for taking me so damn long to read. I just kept adding more and more other books that I wanted and they ended up taking precedence, and I guess that doesn't bode well for the book if I can toss it aside so easily, but hey it was still good when I actually sat down to read it. I think my biggest issue with the book was with Callie herself. I mean, yes I liked the dynamic between her and her brother, but her 'relationship' with Michael felt very forced and uncertain and just well...awkward, for me. That might have been the way I read it, but I just couldn't really gel completely with Callie's point of view, especially when she started to fall so easily into the routine of the rich kid mentality. I know she tried to stop herself, but she just seemed so determined in the beginning and so against people of that nature, and she just almost immediately gave it up, and it bothered me. I thought that at times she was rather petty and shallow; yes she did end up taking down Prime Destinations, but the book didn't really feel concluded for me, especially with the additional little snippet we were given in the final chapter. I wish that we could have had multiple points of view beside Callie, like being inside of Helena's body or Madison or Michael or Tyler, or anyone else. I think the plot was a little sketchy in some places, and I couldn't really picture the Old Man very well at all. I mean, I guess that's the point, but it really wasn't working for me. Now, I've said a lot of negative, but don't get me wrong, it wasn't a bad book by any means, I just saw several flaws. Once I got down to it the book was a quick read and had enjoyable dialogue and events, I just felt it was somewhat forced or wishy washy in some places. It's a decent book, just not very memorable, and I don't think I'll be reading the next installment.
